A message from Michelle Goulet, Board Operations Manager and Chief Returning Officer:

Orel Ruiz has been re-elected as the Administrative Representative on the Niagara College Board of Governors for the following term: September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2028.

Orel is a proud NC alum from the Business Administration – International Business advanced diploma (2011). He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Niagara University.

He began his career at NC in 2009 as a Student Ambassador in the Student Recruitment division and subsequently held several student-facing roles within the NC community. In 2014, Orel moved to the International division, working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of the launch of the Taif campus and held progressively senior roles with NC KSA until 2020, when he returned to NC Canada as the Manager, Global Education and Training.

In his current role as the Director of Global Campus Operations, Compliance and Reporting, he leads a team of skilled administrators, responsible for the development and operations of global campuses and program delivery, and supporting divisional procurement, contract management, compliance, and financial reporting.

Orel is passionate about the power of community engagement and making a positive social impact, and is a proud alumnus of the Leadership Niagara civic engagement program. Outside of work, Orel enjoys exploring new places and cultures, fueling his love for travel.
