It’s been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and on Tuesday, November 3, pancake lovers can start their morning off with a sweet stack at the annual Gillian’s Place Wrapped in Courage Pancake Breakfast.

Once again, Niagara College is supporting the event, which runs from 7 to 9 a.m. at Market Square in downtown St. Catharines.

A team of employees, students and volunteers from Community Relations and Events, Benchmark and the School of Culinary Arts will cook up and serve breakfast to help Gillian’s Place kick off the Wrapped in Courage Campaign.

The campaign is held annually in Ontario during Woman Abuse Prevention Month (November) and encourages community members to wear a purple scarf to show their support for survivors of gender-based violence.

For a cost of $10 per person, guests receive pancakes, sausage, coffee/tea or juice, as well as a Gillian’s Place purple scarf or pet bandana. The bandana is a new option this year to mark the milestone of Gillian’s Place soon becoming a pet-friendly shelter for the women, children and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals it serves.

Tickets are not required to attend the Nov. 3 event. Simply show up and enjoy breakfast for a good cause.
