Niagara College students recently had the opportunity to explore job openings, meet potential employers and participate in in-person interviews during the College’s Employer on Campus – Fall Recruitment Week, held Oct. 5-9, 2026.

Hosted by NC’s Career Services team, the week-long event brought 15 employers to both the Welland and Daniel J. Patterson campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake, giving students direct access to employers and opportunities to apply for current part-time positions.

Niagara Health participated in NC’s Fall Recruitment Week.

Throughout the week, employers set up in high-traffic student areas, creating a convenient, approachable setting for students to make connections and learn more about available roles. The event also introduced students to career development resources at NC and ways to prepare for future employment opportunities.

“Our goal was to create direct opportunities for students to apply for current part-time openings in a small, non-intimidating setting where students and employers could connect on the spot,” said Dina DeBon, Director of Co-operative Education and Career Services.

“We also wanted to expose students to the type of programming available to them at NC and how to ensure they are prepared for job opportunities in the future. Recognizing the financial challenges students are facing, we see value in providing convenient and broad networking opportunities on campus,” said DeBon.

Participating employers represented a wide range of industries. Organizations taking part included Niagara Casinos, YMCA Niagara, Niagara Health, Niagara Region, Toronto Police Service, John Deere Canada, Great Wolf Lodge, Hospitality Resorts Inc., Metro Grocery, Radiant Care, Leyad, Bayshore Home Care Solutions, Turkstra Lumber and Ascona Foods.

Representatives from Ascona Foods joined NC’s Fall Recruitment Fair at the Welland Campus.

“I really enjoyed working with the staff at NC, everyone was so organized and professional and helpful. It’s always nice to interact with students about their future career goals,” said Lana Funk, Talent Acquisition Advisor, Niagara Region.
