Niagara College is celebrating the return of NC alumna and Canadian drag performer, singer and television personality Priyanka to St. Catharines this fall as part of her Small Town Girl Tour.
A recipient of NC’s Alumni of Excellence award, Priyanka will perform at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre on Nov. 27. To celebrate her return to Niagara, NC’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team is giving employees and students a chance to win two VIP tickets to the show.
The prize package, valued at $190, includes two VIP tickets, an opportunity to participate in a Q&A with Priyanka, signed merchandise, access to sound check and a photo with Priyanka. As a Performance Sponsor of the tour, Niagara College is also offering students an exclusive code for $10 off each ticket to the Nov. 27 show, up to a maximum of four tickets per order. Students can access the promo code by visiting NC Engage or the Student Portal.
For a chance to win, register and attend either of the following events:
Positive Space training
NC employees are invited to join the EDI and Centre for Academic Excellence (CAE) teams on Oct. 22 for Positive Space – Creating 2SLGBTQIA+ Inclusive and Affirming Environments.
Delivered in a hybrid format at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus and virtually via Zoom from 1:30 to 3 p.m., the session will provide an engaging and reflective introduction to gender and sexual diversity.
Participants will explore key concepts including terminology, pronouns and gender identity, as well as the impact of heteronormative and cisnormative assumptions.
The session is an opportunity for employees to build their understanding of 2SLGBTQIA+ identities and consider ways to help create more inclusive and affirming environments at NC.
Colourful Clay Creations
Students who attend Student Engagement and the EDI team’s Colourful Clay Creations event will be entered into the draw for a chance to win two VIP tickets to Priyanka’s St. Catharines show.
Come get creative, make something colourful and enjoy time connecting with the NC community.
