In a press release, the Niagara Region announced a joint initiative between Niagara College and Niagara Region Economic Development that has connected more than 1,200 local youth with hands-on agriculture career exploration across seven municipalities.
Launched in January 2026, the Agriculture Career Outreach Initiative introduces students to careers in the sector through specialized learning activities, including experiences at NC’s Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
NC President Sean Kennedy called the initiative “a great example of what can take root when we work together to address workforce needs,” while Evan DiValentino, Dean of Business and Environment, highlighted how the partnership helps students discover career opportunities in agriculture through hands-on learning.
