The event brought together museum members and wine enthusiasts to hear Dr. Emily Aubie, professor in NC’s School of Wine, Beer and Spirits, speak on “The Science of a Good Vintage.”
The article notes that Aubie specializes in viticulture and oenology, with research focused on fermentation, wine chemistry, and sustainable grape growing. She has built extensive hands-on experience in the wine industry through academic studies at Wayne State University and Brock University, as well as grape harvests locally and abroad in Australia, New Zealand, and British Columbia. Aubie has held positions as a lab technician and assistant winemaker at Tawse Winery, and for the past six years, she has been part of the winemaking team at Trius Winery with Andrew Peller Limited, producing premium wines.
