Resource Spotlight: Research support for students

As major assignments and research projects ramp up, Niagara College’s Libraries and Learning Commons staff is reminding the NC community that they offer personalized support to help your students succeed.

Students can book a free, one-on-one research appointment with a library liaison — a subject expert aligned with their area of study. During a 30-minute session (longer if needed), library staff can help students refine their research topic, develop effective search strategies, and navigate the library website and databases to locate relevant books and scholarly articles. They also provide guidance on evaluating sources and offer basic citation support to help students stay on track academically.

Appointments are flexible and available in person at the library or online through Microsoft Teams, making it easy for students to access support wherever they are.

If your students need help getting started or finding quality sources for an upcoming assignment, encourage them to book a research appointment by completing the online form. The team can also be reached at [email protected]
