Reporter Kate McCullough of The Hamilton Spectator reported in a November 24 article that NC has officially launched a new downtown Hamilton campus to support adult learners preparing for college, apprenticeships and employment.

Located on King William Street, the new Academic Upgrading site provides residents aged 18 and older with opportunities to complete their high school equivalency, build essential skills, and take key courses, including English, math and sciences, to pursue postsecondary education or apprenticeship pathways.

McCullough interviewed Jessica Berecz, Associate Director of Workforce Development and Community Partnerships at NC for the article. She is quoted: “We recognized that there was a gap and we wanted to make sure that those accessible pathways to post-secondary and employment were still available to the Hamilton community.”

President Sean Kennedy is also quoted in the article from an NC press release distributed on November 24: “Accessibility to vital educational pathways transforms lives, and we are proud to bring our student-focused and welcoming approach to Hamilton.

The article was also syndicated to the three Niagara dailies (Niagara Falls Review, St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune).
