CHCH released a segment announcing that Niagara College celebrated the grand opening of its new Academic Upgrading – Hamilton Campus on November 24.
The new site will support Hamilton residents aged 18 and older in completing their high school equivalency and upgrading essential skills to prepare for college.
The segment featured footage from the ribbon-cutting ceremony and included interviews with Rebecca Nicholls, Associate Dean of Academic Studies, and Niagara College President Sean Kennedy.
“We really see the value of literacy programs in the community and wanted to be able to support the residents of Hamilton to access literacy programming,” said Nicholls.
“It’s so important in all aspects of workforce training and workforce development, supporting young learners, but also more mature learners. And I think it’s particularly important for those for whom this might be their second chance or last chance to really transform their lives and the trajectory of their lives, but often their families’ lives as well,” said Kennedy.
