CHCH evening news released a segment on NC’s new Horticultural and Environmental Sciences Innovation Centre (HESIC) Greenhouse. The announcement highlighted that the $12-million centre will employ researchers and students and allow them to test new and novel technologies, as well as production practices. It will help growers, across the region’s greenhouse sector a chance to make their crops more successful.
The segment also featured the ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of the new Greenhouse on Nov. 14, which included NC President Sean Kennedy, Lora Tisi (NC Board of Governors, Chair), Tony Baldinelli (MP, Niagara Falls), Wayne Gates (MPP, Niagara Falls), Chris Bittle (MP, St. Catharines), Lorne Coe (MPP, Whitby and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister Of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security), Marc Nantel (NC Vice-President, Research, Innovation and Strategic Initiatives), Hish Clifford (NC Student Administrative Council President) and Gary Zalepa (Mayor, Niagara-on-the-Lake).
