Niagara College’s Chef Signature Series is back this fall, featuring renowned Indigenous chef Zach Keeshig, who will bring the rich flavours and traditions of Indigenous cuisine to NC’s Benchmark Restaurant.
On Thursday, October 2, the celebrated dinner series will kick off with Chef Zach, owner and head chef of Naagan, an acclaimed Indigenous fine-dining restaurant in Owen Sound that has been recognized among Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants and named one of the country’s Top 10 New Restaurants. Chef Zach will create a multi-course tasting menu that showcases progressive Indigenous cuisine, blending traditional ingredients with modern culinary techniques.
The Chef Signature Series, launched in 2014, is a celebrated part of the College’s culinary programming. The series brings globally recognized chefs to campus, giving students hands-on experience with industry leaders while offering guests an immersive gourmet dining experience.
The event will begin with a reception featuring NC’s wine, beer, and spirits, followed by the immersive multi-course dinner at Benchmark, located at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Guests will experience unique dishes that highlight local foraged ingredients, wild game from Nawash territory, and other culturally inspired creations.
