Faculty Update: Academic Advising case management system transition to Salesforce

Niagara College’s Academic Advising team would like to remind all NC faculty that the current case management system, Beacon Anthology, will be discontinued this Fall. Going forward, all concerns regarding a student’s academic progress, attendance and/or engagement must be submitted through Salesforce.

Submitting concerns in Salesforce:

  • Use the Salesforce Faculty Update button in the staff portal. No additional login or password is required.
  • The appropriate Academic Advisor (AA) or International Student Advisor (ISA) will be notified.
  • Advisors will reach out to the student and may contact you if more context is needed.
  • Please note: not all submissions will receive a follow-up response due to the volume of cases.

Important Reminders:

  • Faculty may submit up to 10 updates at a time (same or different students).
  • Concerns related to a student’s health or wellness should be directed to Health, Wellness & Accessibility Services.
  • Issues related to classroom behaviour should be reported to the appropriate Associate Dean.

Support and Training:

  • The Salesforce form is designed to mirror the Beacon form you’re familiar with, with a few usability improvements.
  • A Salesforce training video is available through the Centre for Academic Excellence.

Thank you for your cooperation and support during this transition.
