Earlier this month, the Niagara College Library and Learning Commons team hosted a Living Library event in honour of Pride Month.
The virtual event featured a candid and authentic conversation between Dr. Chris McGrath, Vice President, Students, and Ali Ryder, Outreach and Education Coordinator, Student Recruitment. Together, they explored a wide range of topics–including their family backgrounds, the current landscape of higher education, the value of human connection, and the ways their queer identities have shaped their personal and professional lives.
The event wrapped up with a NC version of ‘Hot Ones’ – a YouTube talk show where guests must answer a series of questions while eating chicken wings, each prepared with a progressively hotter hot sauce.
NC’s “Hot Chicken Lightning Round” brought the heat with six progressively spicier hot sauces, which Ryder and Dr. McGrath sampled during a rapid-fire Q&A with Ryder asking the questions.
A recording of the event is available online through the Libraries and Learning Commons’ Living Library Event Guide. You don’t want to miss it!
Recordings of all past events within the Living Library series are also catalogued on the guide.
