Following a joyful week of celebrating our graduates and their achievements, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make Spring 2025 Convocation such a memorable and meaningful experience for our students and their guests.
Convocation is a cherished tradition at NC that marks both the culmination of our Knights’ academic journeys and the beginning of exciting new chapters. Convocation is also an exceptional example, year after year, of the teamwork, collaboration, and hard work that define NC. Our community truly shines when we come together to celebrate student success.
To our remarkable faculty and staff: thank you for the mentorship, support, and inspiration you’ve provided to our students from their very first day to the moment they crossed the stage to receive their hard-earned credentials. Your passion helps fuel their passion, and lays the foundation of their success. I am deeply grateful for all that you do, year-round, to help our students reach graduation day. Your participation in the ceremonies is so meaningful to our graduates, and your attendance helps to make what our VP Academic Fiona Allan called “a zone of pride and joy” as the graduates exit the stage.
I also want to thank employees from across the college who answered this year’s call to assist with our ceremonies – as ushers, helping with gowns, providing directions and welcoming graduates and their guests. Your participation contributed significantly to the success of Spring Convocation.
I know how much work and preparation goes into delivering a week of successful ceremonies, a testament to our collaborative spirit as an organization. To the teams of employees and students who worked to plan and execute this year’s ceremonies, you created an experience that reflects the student-focused, passionate, trailblazing and welcoming characteristics that define ncLife. Your efforts bring our values to life and help make Convocation a celebration of belonging, growth, and achievement.
In my Convocation address, I emphasized to our graduands the importance of being welcoming and creating a sense of belonging, something we nurture here at NC. That sense of community is made real by each of you, every day. Your unwavering commitment to student success, and to each other, is what makes our Knights family so special.
Once again, thank you to the entire NC team for all you do to open doors and help our students achieve their dreams. I’m filled with pride to lead such a remarkable team.
