Niagara College’s Indigenous Education department is calling on the NC community for donations of gently used clothing and new personal hygiene items for those in urgent need.
More than 600 Canadians from Sandy Lake First Nation in northern Ontario and Pukatawagan First Nation (Mathias Colomb Cree Nation) and Pimicikamak in northern Manitoba are sheltering in Niagara Falls, having been evacuated due to wildfires.
Gently used clothing donations (all sizes, all ages) and new personal hygiene products (diapers, menstrual hygiene products, sunscreen, hair products, deodorant, beauty products) are welcome and can be dropped off at the following locations at each campus:
Welland Campus: Indigenous Education room L201 (Lundy first floor, walk up the stairs outside Human Resources, office is located above HR).
Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake: Sustainability Office E104.
Thank you to all those who can contribute.
