The three Niagara dailies (Niagara Falls Review, St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune) reported that Carol Rapelje has donated more than $100,000 to support five local community organizations.
Rapelje and her family awarded $40,000 to Niagara College, $50,000 to Foyer Richelieu’s long-term care facility in Welland, and $5,000 each to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara Region, Hospice Niagara, and the Niagara Health Foundation.
In the article, Kaitlyn Bailey, Major Gifts Manager at Niagara College said the Rapeljes’ $40,000 gift will establish a scholarship to support nursing students and interest generated from the donation will fund one scholarship per year in perpetuity.
