On April 9, 101.1 More FM and CJED-FM reported on Niagara College’s 33rd gala, which was held on April 5. The coverage highlighted two major gifts announced at the event: a $5-million donation and a $2-million contribution to support key College initiatives.
A $5-million gift from the Myhal Family Foundation, one of the largest in Niagara College’s history, will support efforts to address the critical shortage of health care workers in Niagara and beyond. The $2-million from Keith and Sharon Segal and GuardMe International Insurance, will support the school’s international field placement program.
NC’s VP of Advancement, Gord Arbeau, shared that the funds will help expand applied health education spaces on campus.
“We’ll be adding 75,000 square feet, and that’s going to directly help develop classroom labs, community spaces for nursing students, personal support workers, paramedics, and all the other applied health,” Arbeau said in the article.
