Applications for facilitators for the second annual Student Mental Health Retreat close on Friday, Jan. 31.
The Retreat will take place on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 between the hours of 8:30a.m. – 4:30p.m. at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Happening during break week, this Retreat is a way to give back to our students and support their wellbeing and mental health while also gathering important information for our upcoming Student Mental Health Framework. We anticipate having approximately 40 student participants.
We are looking for NC employees to act as session facilitators to lead students through interactive sessions that allow them to explore various aspects of positive mental health and wellbeing.
Below are a few examples of sessions:
- Creating and caring for an indoor garden – making a connection with nature.
- Walking meditation – slowing down and focusing attention to our body’s movements.
- Storytelling – a way to connect with and develop empathy for others.
Retreat sessions will be:
- In-person.
- 60 minutes in duration.
- Interactive in nature.
