The three Niagara dailies (Niagara Falls Review, St. Catharines Standard and Welland Tribune) released a 2024 Niagara sports year in review with highlights from January to March.
The review notes that on March 26, Janee Harrison (senior female), Carter Thurman (senior male), Sam Cormier (junior female) and Matthew Takacs (junior male) were recognized as athletes of the year at Niagara College’s 54th athletic awards banquet. It also notes that NC coach Chris Rao, who led the women’s basketball team to a bronze medal at the Ontario championships, received the Ralph Nero Memorial Award as coach of the year.
