Niagara College 2024 Holiday Hours

Niagara College wishes you a safe and happy holiday season.

During the holiday break, NC campuses will be closed from December 24 to January 1. Normal hours of operation will resume on January 2.

Some services may be operating on modified hours leading up to and during the holiday closure and early in the new year – including the Wine Visitor + Education Centre.

Below is a list of operating hours for our services and enterprises over the holidays.

Wine Visitor + Education Centre: The Wine Visitor + Education Centre will be open with regular hours of operation (Sunday to Friday: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.) with modified hours on the below dates.

  • December 24: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • December 25: Closed
  • December 26: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • December 31: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • January 1: Closed

Academic Advising & Career Services: Academic Advising & Career Services will be closed from December 24 to January 1 and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2.

Ancillary Services: Ancillary Services (Food Services & Ricoh Print services) on both campuses will be closed from December 24 to January 1 and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2. Please see a revised schedule below including break week hours this week and from January 2 to 3.

  • Tim Hortons: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Subway: 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Pizza Pizza: 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Nourish/On the Go: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Chef Inspired: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Market Grill: 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • AHI Tim Hortons: Closed

Athletics & Recreation: Fitness Centres and gymnasiums on both campuses will operate with reduced hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and will be closed on weekends from now until the holiday break. Fitness Centres and gymnasiums on both campuses will be closed from December 21 to January 1 and will re-open with reduced hours on January 2 to 3. Regular hours of operation will resume on January 6.

Benchmark: Benchmark is now closed to the public for 2024 and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 14. Benchmark Café will re-open on January 6.

Bookstore: The Welland Campus bookstore will be closed from December 24 to January 1 and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2. Online ordering is also available via the Campus Bookstore website.

Campus Safety & Parking Services: During the holiday break, both campus exterior doors will be locked starting December 24 to January 1 and will re-open January 2. Should you require access to either campus, please contact Security at 905-735-2211 ext.6999 or email [email protected].

Community Employment Services (43 Church St. in St. Catharines): CES will be open with revised hours form December 24 to January 1 and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2. Please see a revised schedule below:

  • December 24: 9 a.m. – 1p.m
  • December 25:  Closed
  • December 26: Closed
  • December 27: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • December 30: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • December 31: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • January 1: Closed

Enrolment Services: On-campus and virtual services will be closed December 24 to January 1 and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2. Students may continue to submit requests via email and student portal. Requests will be reviewed in priority sequence when Enrolment Services re-opens on January 2.  Please visit the Enrolment Services website for information. 

Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services: HWAS will be closed from December 24 to January 1 and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2.

Good2Talk
Good2Talk is a free, province-wide service for students in college/university and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It provides professional counselling, mental health information and connections to local resources. Students who are concerned about student life, health or mental well-being can contact Good2Talk via:

COAST Niagara / Mental Health and Addiction Help Line
COAST provides services to people in the Niagara Region who are in crisis and have a mental health concern. Ongoing telephone support and/or referral to appropriate follow-up services may be recommended to prevent further crisis.

Call 1-866-550-5205 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) and press 1 for COAST or press 2 for Mental Health and Addiction Help Line. Visit the COAST website for more information.

Indigenous Education:  Both Indigenous Education Centres will be closed from December 24 to January 1and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2.

International Centres: Both campus International Centres will be closed from December 24 to January 1, however support will be available to current students during this time via email, phone or online chat. For more information visit NC’s International website. All services will resume with regular hours of operation on January 2.

ncLibraries and Learning Commons: Both campus libraries will operate with reduced hours of operations from December 16 to January 3. Regular hours of operations will resume on January 6.  Online resources are available 24-7 at niagaracollege.ca/library. Please see the revised schedule below:

  • December 16 to 22: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • December 23: The Daniel J. Patterson Campus library will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Welland Campus library will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • January 2 to 3: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Niagara College Student Administrative Council (NCSAC) offices and Student Centres: NCSAC offices and virtual chat services will close from December 24 to January 1. The Core and The Armoury, and The Shack and Undergrounds will also be closed from December 24 to January 1. All services will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2.

Student Services: The Student Rights & Responsibilities Office will be closed from December 24 to January 1 and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2.

Teaching Greenhouse: The Greenhouse will be closed from December 24 to January 1 and will re-open with regular hours of operation on January 2.

Teaching Salon: The Teaching Salon and the Pavilion will be closed from December 24 to January 13 and will re-open with regular hours of operations on January 14.

Teaching Spa: The Teaching Spa is currently closed and will re-open in January 2025 (date TBD). Please check ncteachingspa.ca in January 2025 for up-to-date information on hours and services available.
