The holiday season can be a joyful and exciting time for many, but for some it can feel isolating, stressful and bleak.
NC is encouraging staff and faculty to support members of our community who may be struggling this season by familiarizing yourself with the supports and services available through NC.
Staff and Faculty
Counselling services are available for staff and faculty through the Employee and Family Assistance Program.
Students
Counselling services and mental health support is available through Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services. Students can make an appointment to speak to a counsellor by visiting the HWAS website.
Students who require assistance outside of office hours or during the winter break are encouraged to access the below resources.
Good2Talk: A free, confidential 24/7 post-secondary student helpline. Students can access professional counselling, information and referrals.

GuardME Student Support Program: A mental health and wellness service dedicated to student wellbeing. This program offers 24/7 access to professional counsellors in various languages.

Mental Health education available
NC staff and faculty are encouraged to take advantage of the learning resources available to them so they can better identify and assist someone experiencing mental health difficulties.
