Winter orientation will take place on Jan.3, 2025.

Niagara College will welcome the new year, and a new intake of students, at Winter Orientation on Jan. 3.

To help incoming students transition to college life, NC’s Orientation programming is designed to prepare students for the first day of classes, introduce them to the services available at the College, and provide them with opportunities to participate in social events hosted on and off-campus.

Orientation Day is taking place on Jan 3. Program and Co-op Information Sessions take place that day, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., giving students the chance to connect with their program coordinators, instructors and fellow students ahead of classes. A Welcome Hub is also planned at both campuses between 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students can find the Welcome Hub in the Learning Commons at the Welland Campus and in the Wellness Lounge at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

NC’s Student Engagement team is looking for employees who are willing to be in the hallways on Jan. 3 in the early morning to help guide students around campus and to their classrooms.

The team will be stationed at the Athletics, Main and Simcoe entrances at the Welland Campus and at the Main, Marotta and West Wing (by W115) entrances at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Employees who can help may join the team at those locations. Please also wear your NC branded clothing or you can request a blue Orientation t-shirt by emailing Marilia Fructuoso Machado Welter, Student Experience Coordinator.

For more information about Winter Orientation programming, including a listing of social events for all students, visit NC’s Orientation website.

Orientation is coordinated by the Athletics and Student Engagement department in collaboration with the International division, academic and student service areas, and NCSAC.
