The month of November marks Hindu Heritage Month – a month-long celebration and recognition of the important contributions that Hindu Canadians have made to Ontario’s social, economic, political and cultural fabric.
Below is a list of events hosted by Niagara College in honour of Hindu Heritage Month:
Diwali lantern making
When: Friday Nov. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Welland Wellness Lounge
Join the Libraries and Learning Commons team to make your own Diwali lantern. Diwali, one of the major religious festivals in Hinduism, symbolizes the victory of light over darkness.
Diwali Celebration
When: Friday Nov. 8 starting at 7 p.m.
Where: Marriott on the Falls
Organized by NC’s International division, this ticketed event will feature a delicious Indian feast, traditional dance performances and a photo booth.
