Niagara College offers a comprehensive suite of mental health supports available to students.

Earlier this year, the keep.meSAFE Program rebranded to GuardME Student Support Program (GMSSP).

Part of a comprehensive suite of mental health supports available to students through Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services (HWAS) at Niagara College, the GuardME Student Support Program is a mental health and wellness service dedicated to student wellbeing. This program offers 24/7 access to professional counsellors in various languages, digital resources, and confidential care, ensuring students have the help they need, when they need it.

Students can access this service in the following ways:

Students experiencing mental health concerns can also connect with NC counsellors through the HWAS offices. Counsellors are equipped to help students dealing with anxiety, personal crisis, substance use/abuse and overall mental health concerns. Students can book a counselling appointment by calling, emailing or dropping by the HWAS offices.

The HWAS offices are located in Room AH125 at the Welland Campus and in Room W102 at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Visit the Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services website to learn more about the resources available.

Students are encouraged to remember that taking care of their mental health is just as important as academic success. All NC students are encouraged to make the most of this resource and to connect with Health, Wellness and Accessibility Services if they have any questions.
