On October 17, Black Owned 905 hosted a pop-up market at Niagara College’s Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake, where students and employees shopped from local Black vendors selling a variety of goods, including jewelry and accessories, pantry items, skincare and more.

Those who dropped by also had the opportunity to learn about local services available to support the Black community in Niagara.

The event was held in partnership with the NC Student Administrative Council (NCSAC), Community Relations and Events, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, who first welcomed the market to the Welland Campus earlier this year in February during the College’s Black History Month activities.

Black Owned 905 is designed to support and uplift Black-owned businesses in Niagara and surrounding areas. They regularly host markets to showcase and support Black entrepreneurs.
