A message from President Sean Kennedy and NC Cares 2024 Co-Chairs Becky Sciliberto and Ali Weir:
I am thrilled to kick off this year’s United Way workplace campaign, NC Cares in a Million Ways, alongside our 2024 NC Cares Co-Chairs, Ali Weir and Becky Sciliberto, and our dedicated NC Cares Campaign Committee.
Our annual United Way workplace campaign is a testament to the College’s unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in the community around us. Each year, our remarkable NC family comes together to support individuals and families in need throughout the Niagara region. This year is particularly special because we will reach – and exceed – a cumulative total of one million dollars in donations!
Last year, we achieved an outstanding fundraising total of $60,300, marking the third consecutive year of exceeding our fundraising goal and setting a new record. This contribution helped United Way Niagara support over 160,000 residents in 2023, addressing critical needs such as food security, mental health, and housing stability in our region. I am confident that, united #NCTogether, we can achieve this year’s fundraising goal of $50,000 and continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
I encourage everyone to support this year’s campaign if you are able. One of the simplest ways to contribute is through NC’s payroll deduction program, where you can choose any dollar amount or make a one-time donation. For other ways to donate and support, visit the NC Cares website.
Today, you can engage with your NC Cares Campaign Committee at both campuses to learn more about the workplace campaign and how to get involved. Employees are invited to visit campaign booths at the following locations between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.:
- Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake: By the Cafeteria.
- Welland Campus: Outside the Secord Entrance by Security and the Segal International Centre.
This year, we are also assembling a team of passionate NC Cares Ambassadors. Ambassadors will attend meetings and play a key role in spreading the word among the NC community about the life-changing work accomplished by United Way Niagara. If you are interested in joining our NC Cares Ambassador Squad, please click here to fill out the form.
Over the next few months, there will be several opportunities for you to support the campaign through on-campus activations and events. Stay tuned for more updates from your NC Cares Campaign Committee on the NC Cares website and InsideNC to learn about campaign initiatives and ways to get involved.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our United Way workplace campaign. I look forward to seeing our NC family unite again this year as we contribute to this important cause and make a meaningful difference in our community.
