Niagara College’s Culinary Arts students have been hard at work this semester, refining their culinary craft, experimenting with flavours and mastering innovative food techniques. As they progress through their studies, students in the Integrated Contemporary Food Production (CULN 134) course are preparing to showcase their talents through exciting, on-campus events: the In-Lab Receptions and the Final Exam lunches and dinners.

In the CULN 134 course, students learn how culinary techniques and styles are ever-changing due to increased globalization. They get to modify, preserve, and create unique contemporary products and ingredients for use in modern culinary applications.

These events provide Culinary students with practical experience, allowing them to demonstrate their skills and creativity in real-world settings, and ensuring they are well-prepared for their future careers. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to not only enjoy delicious food made on campus but also to learn about the intricate processes behind each dish and witness the students’ culinary skills in action.

In-Lab Receptions

At the In-Lab Receptions, attendees will join students in their culinary lab to taste the delicious dishes they create. All food will be proudly crafted by the students in the Integrated CULN 134 course, under the guidance of their Chef Professors. Guests will have the opportunity to see the students cook in action, preparing small-bite dishes and educating guests on the processes involved at various live-action food stations.

Menu Highlights:

  • Fresh Ground Beef & Black Bean Mushroom Burgers
  • Carrot Lox
  • Pork Belly Bao Bun
