Message from Leah Hogan, Director, Indigenous Education:
I am thrilled to officially welcome Karl as a permanent member of the NC team as our Indigenous cultural advisor, effective Oct. 7.
Many of you already know Karl from his contributions and friendship with us over the past 18 months. Karl has played a vital role in leading Katsistiyó -the student feedback project, supporting the MPower program, and most recently developing the Residential School survivors curriculum guide, and we’re thrilled our students and NC community will continue to learn from his expertise and benefit from his energy and dedication to Indigenous education.
A member of the Oneida of the Thames (Bear Clan), Karl’s background includes leadership roles at both the Niagara Regional Native Centre and the Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre, which will support him in advancing the college’s Indigenous education strategy being developed over the next academic year.
