Niagara College’s Institute for Global Education & Training is thrilled to announce the successful completion of its Clean Energy Webinar Series, which concluded with the final session taking place on September 13 . This milestone highlights the College’s ongoing commitment to sharing its expertise in sustainability with a global audience.
For this initiative, Niagara College partnered with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (UNEVOC).
The webinar series “Going Clean: TVET and the Green Energy Transition” is part of the BILT (Bridging Innovation and Learning in TVET) project, aimed at tackling the challenges posed by technological, social, environmental, and workplace changes. With a keen focus on new qualifications and competencies, BILT addresses critical issues such as digitalization, greening, entrepreneurship, and migration in TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training).
The webinar is supported by the Bundesinstitut für Berufsbildung (BIBB) Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training and sponsored by Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The first three webinars of the four-part series brought together a diverse group of global experts, engaging 500 attendees from over 130 countries. Each session offered unique insights into the role of TVET in the green energy transition. From discussion on skills development to exploring various collaboration models, the webinar created a space for sharing varied knowledge and sparking important conversations around sustainable energy. The series has demonstrated the global commitment to advancing green energy through education and innovation.
