Building Institutional Capacity through Strategic International Partnerships
Presented by Dr. Holly Catalfamo, Senior Director, Global Education and Training, this session will explore the process of building institutional capacity by establishing strategic international partnerships between postsecondary institutions around the world. These partnerships lead to the growth and development of students, faculty, and administrative team members alike. Additionally, the cultivation of these valued partnerships builds a learning organization where interpersonal relationships are fostered, and a culture of organizational excellence is celebrated. NC’s experience in collaborating with partners in Jamaica and Canada will be showcased, illustrating how strong strategic partnerships have been developed and included student mobility, curriculum innovations, virtual collaborations, and applied research projects.
Innovative Partnership Model to Drive Quality Assurance in Global Campuses
Orel Ruiz, Director of Global Campus Operations, Compliance and Reporting, and Becky Sciliberto, Manager of Global Compliance & Reporting, will introduce an innovative Quality Assurance (QA) Framework tailored for non-academic services at branch campuses. The model focuses on a wide range of services, catering to different aspects of student life, from health and wellness to career preparation. Developed in collaboration with partners from the NC community and industry best practices, this framework builds on the essential components of quality assurance, adding cross-college engagement, benchmarking, and ongoing engagement and evaluation to drive continuous improvement. The presenters will share insights and lessons learned from its implementation, by showcasing a case-study application at NC’s public-college private partnership (PCPP) campus location.
Inspiring Innovation in Entrepreneurship Learning: The Integration of Entrepreneurial Pedagogy in Technical Vocational Education & Training (TVET)
The objective of the session, led by the School of Business & Management Studies Professor Monique Finley, is to provide a call to action for educators, who serve as mentors and coaches to prepare graduates to explore both entrepreneurial ventures and an entrepreneurial mindset. Participants will gain both the theoretical context and innovation techniques needed to support students to bring their business ideas to life and infuse entrepreneurial thinking into their professional practice.
