Niagara College employees are invited to attend a Global Learning Lounge session on September 5 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), facilitated by the Office of Culture & Global Engagement. During this online Zoom session, you will explore the Be World Ready (BWR) program initiatives.
Please join Maxine Semple, Associate Director, Cultural & Global Engagement as she shares insights on the opportunities curated by BWR for students, faculty, and staff. Maxine will be joined by a BWR International Field Study lead from Winter 2024, Gillian Shinner, Planning, Sustainability & Capital Projects Administrative Coordinator.
Are you eager to develop and contribute to your professional goals of expanding your intercultural competencies alongside our students? Join us for a session to learn how BWR is expanding beyond just travel, offering opportunities for everyone in our community, on our campus and in our classrooms.
What you can expect to take away from this session:
- Hear about the expansion of the Be World Ready program and its opportunities in the classroom, on-campus, and in the community, extending beyond travel and offering everyone across NC the chance to engage.
- Learn about the responsibilities and expectations of acting as a Be World Ready International Field Study lead, hearing from a recent lead’s experience.
- Explore how you can become involved in our international student pre-departure training activities in countries such as India.
Important note: If you are considering leading an upcoming Be World Ready experience, participation in a BWR Global Learning Lounge session is mandatory to apply for the role. If you are unable to attend this session (it will not be recorded), another session will be offered next term.
We encourage you to review the BWR Staff FAQs in advance of the session.
Registration is not required. NC employees can join the session using the Zoom link posted to the employee portal (MyNC portal under ‘Staff Announcements’). The Zoom link will also be shared via campus notice email.
