A new chapter has begun for Niagara College’s long-time mascot, Knightro, who has traded in his shield for a new set of golf clubs to mark his retirement.
As Knightro rides off into the sunset, NC congratulates him on this well-deserved milestone. Watch this video for a glimpse into Knightro’s last days on campus.
For decades, Knightro has been a shining member of the NC family and one of the College’s most honourable and visible brand ambassadors.
He has connected with countless students and employees at on-campus events and celebrations and has been the number one supporter of our Knights varsity teams, cheering on our student-athletes and interacting with fans at OCAA games. Though his look has changed over the decades, Knightro’s alliance to NC has never wavered.
Knightro’s storied journey has also included many community appearances at local sporting and partner events and Grape and Wine parades, where he has connected with community members of all ages and made friends with fellow mascots.

New mascot reveal
A noble Knight, Knightro is leaving his former home in good hands.
“We are grateful for the years of Knightro’s service and we can’t wait to introduce you to the new Niagara College Knights mascot,” said Michele O’Keefe, Director, Athletics and Student Engagement.
The new mascot for the NC Knights will be announced on September 6 and will make its in-person debut that same day at the Knights soccer home opener games. The games will take place at Youngs Sportsplex at 6 p.m. (Women’s team) and 8 p.m. (Men’s team). Please save this date and watch for more information.
In the meantime, stay tuned for hints about the new mascot on the Knights socials on Instagram, Facebook and X.
Hint: Knightro was involved in the succession planning and shares a close bond with his replacement, to whom he’s pleased to pass the torch to.
