A message from Kimberley Cathline, Research Program Manager, Horticultural & Environmental Sciences Innovation Centre:

I am thrilled to share that Scott Golem has been appointed the role of Research Facilities Manager with the Horticultural & Environmental Sciences Innovation Centre (HESIC), effective July 29.

Over the past year, Scott successfully led several projects as a Research Lead at HESIC, and we are excited to have him continue with us in this new capacity.

Scott’s strong background in research, along with his experience as a Master Grower, positions him well to excel in this new role. In this new position, Scott will be responsible for operating and managing the current CannaResearchBunker, along with the new HESIC greenhouse and plant growth facility. In addition to five growing bays, the new HESIC facility includes two laboratories and a vertical grow room. Scott will also continue to contribute to leading impactful research project work, focusing on innovations in cannabis cultivation.

Scott holds a BSc in Forensic Science from Trent University, an MSc in Biotechnology from Brock University, and a Post-graduate Certificate in Commercial Cannabis Production from Niagara College. Currently, Scott shares his expertise as a part-time faculty member at Niagara College, teaching in the Commercial Cannabis Production Program.

Please join us in congratulating Scott and celebrating his new role within the Research & Innovation division.
