A message from Pam Skinner, Senior Vice-President, College Operations:
This fall, we will officially launch Niagara College’s new 2024-2029 Sustainability Plan: A Time for Action – our bold approach to shape a sustainable, inclusive, and healthy campus community for today and for generations of Knights to come.
Aligned with the priorities in our Strategic Plan, the Sustainability Plan embodies our commitment to taking actions for the betterment of the environment, and the theme underscores the urgency of the climate crisis and this crucial time to act.
The plan builds upon our great culture of sustainability and the momentum of the plan’s first iteration in 2019.
Sustainability is a shared responsibility. As you explore the new Sustainability Plan, we hope you can draw connections to your work and experiences at NC. The guiding principles represent feedback and insight from students and employees through the extensive engagement process.
Past goals and targets have been updated – including academics, co-curricular, waste, energy and carbon – and new ones added – buildings, procurement, and governance, a natural evolution of sustainability at NC and globally.

The refreshed website aims to ensure everyone can access the information, share resources, and see sustainability in action on campus and in our community.
Stay tuned for a full, College-wide launch during the Fall 2024 Term, and check for more ways to get involved on the NC Engage app and the Sustainability website.
We hope you are inspired by our new plan, and that you will join us as we accelerate our collective efforts to be great stewards of our campuses, our communities, and our world.
Thank you for being partners in our commitment to sustainability.
Pam Skinner
