This is the first of a series of two articles on international education events held Spring 2024
This spring, Niagara College has participated in a roster of international education events, engaging with approximately 700 global partners from over 70 countries. Through the interactions, the College was able to cultivate collaborative relationships and facilitate learning opportunities, ultimately supporting students and learners worldwide in achieving their academic goals .
Canada Partnership Forum (CPF)
The Canada Partnership Forum (CPF), hosted by the International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC) in Toronto from April 26 to 28, kicked off the series of events. The forum provided a valuable opportunity for networking and collaboration.
Following CPF, NC hosted agents and ILAC representatives on April 29 at its Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The campus tour included presentations from various areas across the College, as well as stops at five stations hosted by NC alumni, who shared their inspiring journeys from students to successful professionals in Niagara’s restaurant industry.
“The love and gratitude current students and graduates express for the College excited me greatly,” said Daniela Hernandez, representative of the agency Estudiantes Embajadores from Mexico, after the tour. “It became evident that, beyond being a premium institution, Niagara College cares about the growth and development of their students even after they graduate.”
Niagara College Familiarization (FAM) Trip
On May 1, NC welcomed global agents for its highly anticipated FAM trip, providing them with the opportunity to explore the Welland Campus. Through comprehensive tours and presentations from various departments and alumni, agents gained insights into NC’s innovative approach to experiential learning and state-of-the-art facilities.
The event also facilitated valuable networking opportunities for the agents, who connected with the College’s Schools of Study and student service areas, offering them a wholistic view of the academic and extracurricular offerings at NC.
“Niagara College’s infrastructure seamlessly aligns with the cutting-edge technological demands sought by today’s companies,” said Jacky Fanambinana, representative of Fan Education Agency, based in Madagascar, after the tour. “The College’s strength lies in its utilization of state-of-the-art technology, readily accessible to students. These tools not only enhance students’ comprehension of the real world but also equip them with the readiness required for the next generation of professionals.”
International Consultants for Education and Fairs (ICEF) North America
For the first time, ICEF North America took place in the Niagara region from May 1 to 3 at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre. Niagara College hosted a booth where its team engaged with educators, recruitment partners, and service providers from around the world.
“In my visit to NC’s booth at ICEF, I was particularly impressed to know how the College integrates digital learning technologies across its curriculum,” said Dr. Ravi Garg, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pioneer Immigration & Education Consultancy, in India. “Other aspects that stand out are the College’s investment in cutting-edge facilities that simulate real-world environments and the focus on practical and experiential learning, in collaboration with regional, national, and global industries, ensuring students are gaining real-world experience.”
NC’s success in supporting students in achieving their academic aspirations and transition to Canada did not go unnoticed.
“I was excited to learn about NC’s seamless integration of solutions to the diverse needs of international students,” said Diogo Rodrigues, representative of Yes Intercâmbio, an agency based in Brazil. “Unlike other institutions, NC excels in its cohesive approach to handling paperwork, admissions, enrollment, and student engagement all under one roof. This holistic support ensures a smooth transition and an enriching experience for every student.”
As this year’s spring international education events conclude, NC anticipates continued collaboration with global partners, inspired by a shared commitment to fostering student success on a global scale.

The NC team engaged with partners from around the world during International Consultants for Education and Fairs (ICEF) North America on May 1-3.
