A notice from NC Athletics:
Please be advised that the Gymnasium at the Simplii Financial Athletic Centre at the Welland Campus will be temporarily closed for an extended period of time beginning May 6, as the space undergoes several enhancements.
A new sound system will be installed in May to enhance the gym’s capabilities when hosting college events and athletic games. Work to the gym floor is also scheduled in June. The existing floor was installed in the spring of 2011 and will undergo a full re-sand this summer in advance of the 2024 Fall Term.
This work is scheduled to begin on May 6 and will continue through the summer months until complete. An update will be shared when the gym reopens.
Please note that the gym will be open from June 3-17 to host graduates and their families during NC’s 2024 Spring Convocation ceremonies. It will close again on June 18, when work begins on the gym floor.
We thank students and employees for their patience this spring and summer, and remind everyone that the newly enhanced Fitness Centre at the Welland Campus will remain open. Please check the Knights website here for summer facility hours.
Gym C (used by the Justice and Fitness Training Centre) will also remain open.
There is no change in operations to the Gymnasium or Fitness Centre at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
