Niagara College will engage with around 700 global partners representing over 70 countries this spring. Educational agents will be in Canada during three global education events, including the highly anticipated 2024 Niagara College Familiarization (FAM) trip.
Canada Partnership Forum
The first in the series of events, the Canada Partnership Forum (CPF), will be hosted by the International Language Academy of Canada (ILAC) and will take place in Toronto from April 26 to 28, with 280 agents in attendance. On April 29, Niagara College anticipates hosting 128 agents, 11 ILAC representatives and one Languages Canada member at its Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Representing 26 countries, this group will have the opportunity to experience NC’s business, hospitality, environmental, culinary, and wine programs and learn about the hands-on learning that takes place in some of NC’s on-campus teaching enterprises.
School of Culinary Arts graduates will play a pivotal role in enriching the experience. While touring the campus, agents will visit five stations hosted by alumni who will share their inspiring journeys, from students to successful entrepreneurs in Niagara’s restaurant industry. Additionally, they will showcase their culinary talents by providing attendees with a taste of their restaurants, offering a firsthand experience of the excellence achieved in their establishments.
Niagara College FAM trip
The FAM trip, scheduled for May 1, will provide global agency partners the opportunity to immerse themselves in NC’s vibrant atmosphere. A group of 86 agents representing 36 countries will embark on a comprehensive tour of the Welland Campus and experience firsthand the innovative approach to experiential learning, state-of-the-art facilities and hands-on training environments that showcase the College’s commitment to preparing work-ready students.
The agenda also includes presentations from various departments across the College, providing a wholistic view of academic and extracurricular offerings, as well as valuable networking opportunities to connect with different schools of study and services.
By gaining a deeper understanding of life at NC and in the Niagara region, these agents can provide invaluable guidance to students navigating the complexities of studying abroad and transitioning to Canada.
“After experiencing firsthand what NC offers, the agents gain confidence in recommending the College to their students,” said NC’s Senior Director of Global Business Development, Gary Torraville. “Events like these enable our educational partners to witness how NC prepares world-ready and work-ready graduates through our unwavering commitment to academic excellence and the comprehensive student services we provide, ensuring a wholistic student experience.”
International Consultants for Education and Fairs (ICEF)
Coming to the Niagara region for the first time, ICEF North America will occur at Niagara Falls Convention Centre from May 1 to 3. During the event, NC will proudly showcase its offerings with a dedicated booth highlighting what attracts students from over 100 countries to study at its campuses.
With over 700 attendees representing 70+ countries, including educators, recruitment partners, and service providers, ICEF North America presents a prime opportunity for the NC team to engage with many of these professionals over the event’s three days.
“As Canada’s leading global college, NC is dedicated to engaging with the global community, whether it is welcoming students from over 100 countries or supporting students in training, as well as fostering collaborative learning opportunities,” said NC’s Director of Global Business Development, Scott Slaney. “With partners from around the world, we amplify the reach of learning opportunities for global learners, supporting them to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.”
