A message from Krystle Grimaldi, Director, Research & Innovation:
Research & Innovation (R&I) is pleased to announce some changes within our Food & Beverage Innovation Centre (FBIC) division.
After taking on the role of Acting Associate Director for the past year and a half, Kristine Canniff will become the Associate Director.
In this role, Kristine is responsible for overall management of the team, operations, and facilities. This includes planning, strategic direction, operational management, project management, business development, and funding strategies.
As part of R&I’s evolution to services its various stakeholders, Lyndon Ashton will move into a new role title Associate Director, Economic Development and Planning.
In his new role, Lyndon will continue to manage R&I commercial initiatives, including the FBIC beverage pilot plant, will lead strategic planning activities across the division, lead relationship development at the ecosystem level, including with economic development agencies, industry associations and community groups, as well as work collaboratively on the development of new R&I initiatives. Business development and project-partner recruitment will continue as is, with David DiPietro and Tess Finlay, working collaboratively with Lyndon in his new role.
