Story written by NC Public Relations student Naomi Fox:

Bright, bold and brilliant describes the Niagara College Teaching Winery’s portfolio, and the women who make it!

Bottled Brilliance, an annual winemaker’s dinner celebrating women in wine, was held on March 6 at BarBea and Ruffino’s in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The evening consisted of a cocktail hour featuring beautifully executed pintxos, Pink Boots beer by NC and specialty mixed drinks designed for Allison Findlay and Emma Smalley, winemaker and assistant winemaker for NCTW. Following the reception, guests were invited to their seats for an expertly crafted five-course dinner with brilliant wine pairings.

The event was organized by a group of NC Public Relations students as a part of instructor Emily McInerney’s Special Event Management course. Five students started planning the event in January under the guidance and expertise of Jessica Neal-Ellis, Events Coordinator at Niagara College Teaching Winery.

“It’s the second year we’ve hosted this event alongside the NC public relations students, and we’ve been beyond proud of the outcome both times,” said Neal-Ellis. “This year’s event was well attended and elegantly done– I can’t wait to see what’s created next year!”

Bottled Brilliance was lucky to have special guests in attendance, including NC President, Sean Kennedy, and Vice-President, Academic, Fiona Allan. The events team was proud to showcase their hard work to esteemed guests.

Stay tuned for next year!
