A message from Michele O’Keefe, Director, Athletics & Student Engagement:
It is with mixed emotions that the Knights announce the retirement of Phil Mosley, Head Coach of the men’s basketball program.
Phil has played a role in the Knights basketball programs, both the men’s and women’s, since 1981. Most recently, he has been the head coach of the varsity men’s squad since 2018. His overall record during this time was 50-35, capturing an OCAA bronze medal in the 2018-2019 season. The men’s squad has also received 14 CCAA National Scholar Awards and 20 OCAA All-Academic Awards.
Phil is one of those people that you always want around your student-athletes. His professionalism matches his heart and commitment to the young men on his squad. We are so proud to always be part of the conversation when it comes to competitive teams in the OCAA and CCAA thanks to Phil’s efforts.
Reflecting on his time at the College, Phil shares, “I have been very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing student-athletes in my career as the men’s head coach at Niagara College. I am very grateful for the outstanding support I received from so many people during my time, and the relationships and memories I made will always have special significance in my life.”
Phil will finish his time at Niagara College on May 29, 2024. Please join me in wishing him a happy upcoming retirement.
The hunt for the next varsity men’s basketball coach begins today.
