Participate in Open Education Week at NC, March 4 – 8

Come and celebrate OE Week 2024 with Niagara College Libraries and Learning Commons.

Held every March, OE Week is a time to applaud the achievements of our fellow open educators and to bring awareness to the various causes of Open Education. OE Week at Niagara College Libraries and Learning Commons has a strong focus on promoting the adoption, adaptation, and creation of Open Educational Resources at Niagara College.

This year’s events include:

Lunch and Learn Session: Adopt vs Shop?

NC staff and faculty are invited to come learn about OER, meet a faculty member who has created an OER for use in their classroom, and network with other like-minded individuals. Participants will be provided a free lunch from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. in the Academic Drop-In Room SE244 at the Welland Campus.

Learn mOER Contest

Learn mOER about OER and about OER at Niagara College and complete the following modules to be entered in a draw to win prizes. Complete each module and be entered in a draw to win a $50 Gift Card. Complete all 3 modules and be entered in a draw to win our Grand Prize, which is an Apple Watch! One winner will be drawn for each campus. The modules (complete to win):

Please review contest rules below:

  1. Contestants must be a student, faculty, or staff member at Niagara College.
  2. Contestants may not work for Niagara College Libraries.
  3. Contestants must complete each module between 03/04/25 00:00 and 03/08/25 23:59.
  4. Participants can complete the module multiple times. However, they will only be given one ballot towards the draw for the prize/grand prize.
