We are calling all Niagara College staff and faculty with expertise in plumbing, pipefittings and trades training.
In collaboration with another Canadian college, Niagara College’s Global Education Projects (GEP) team is working on developing alternative education pathways in Tanzania as part of the Empowerment Through Skills Program (ESP-05).
To work together with Folk Development Colleges (FDCs) and local industry partners, we are seeking an expert in plumbing and pipe fitting with some experience in training design and delivery, to support the development of a short course that will be delivered in Tanzania.
The instructional design of the short course will follow the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation), and will provide trainees with a combination of theoretical and hands-on practical training to allow them entry points into the work force.
To be part of the project, the GEP team is looking for experts in the following areas:
- Plumbing
- Pipe fittings
- Trades training

The Empowerment through Skills Program (ESP) is a program supported by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan). The outcome of ESP is improved economic participation by women and adolescent girls through strengthening alternative pathways to education, employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship in Tanzania.
