Niagara College’s Leadership Exploration and Development Program (LEAD) is proud to present a thought-provoking panel discussion on February 21, inviting the NC community to delve into the success and challenges women face while working in traditionally male-dominated industries.
LEAD is a co-curricular program designed to offer students from any academic area the opportunity to explore and develop leadership skills within three key areas: personal development, career readiness and community engagement.
The LEAD Panel will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Welland Campus in The Core. In addition to students, NC employees and alumni are also welcome to attend the event. Attendance is free, but registration is required. Click here to secure your spot.
Panelists include, Allison Findlay, Head Winemaker, Niagara College Teaching Winery, Jan Bradley, School of Technology Professor, Niagara College, Madison Vine, Channel Marketing Manager, Peller Estates Winery and Sarah Cummings, Director of Radio Content, iHeartRadio & Orbyt Media.
“Our leadership program aims to bring students unique offerings of opportunities, real world experience and thoughtful advice,” said Sarah Singleton, Student Engagement and Leadership Program Coordinator, Athletics & Student Engagement. “This LEAD Panel will foster a necessary conversation around women’s experiences in professional environments, addressing a prevalent topic in society today.”
Beyond the LEAD Panel event, Singleton also coordinates the monthly LEAD Book Club, a virtual platform where students can share and discuss various books. The club offers a diverse reading experience, allowing participants to contribute their own book selections or simply listen in to expand their reading lists.
