On January 19, the three Niagara dailies (St. Catharines Standard, Niagara Falls Review and Welland Tribune) released an article on Niagara College’s high international student demand amid declining international study permit approvals, including an interview with NC’s Vice-President, International, Sean Coote.

The article highlights that despite reports that nearly half of school-approved international students are being rejected by Canadian visa officials, Niagara College said it has seen no significant impact to its enrolment numbers, calling international student demand at its campuses “very high.”

Coote is quoted in the article: “We’re not seeing a decline in international student enrolment at the college. We’re comfortably stable with international enrolments and are seeing more students from more countries, meaning that we’re getting a lot more students from countries that we haven’t seen before.”
