Join us December 6 on National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women as we take time to honour those who have lost their lives to gender-based violence.
December 6 is the anniversary of the Polytechnique massacre, where an armed man walked into the engineering school where he killed 14 women and injured 10 others before shooting himself.
Gender-based violence remains tragically common in Canada. On December 6, we honour the memory of the victims of the Polytechnique massacre, the thousands of murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls, as well as members of the Niagara community and those around the world who we have lost to gender-based violence.
During the event we will be joined by four community members who are dedicated in their work to ending gender-based violence. Learn about the efforts of their organizations and our role in ending this violence.

This event welcomes both NC staff and students and will be held in a hybrid format, at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake and via Zoom. A Zoom link will be shared with those registered in advance of the event.
