A team of staff and faculty from the School of Wine, Beer and Spirits are ready to present a whiskey tasting event for NC employees to celebrate the power of women and the charm of whiskey.
Women, Whiskey and Wanderlust: Empowering Women in the World of Whiskey will take place on November 23 from 7-9 p.m. at (Benchmark DJP Campus).
“This event is inspired by the Our Whisky Foundation which was founded with the intention to support women in the global whisky community by helping to create a more diverse and inclusive industry,” said Artisan Distilling Professor and Program Coordinator Andrea Fujarczuk. “There is often an outdated gendered image when it comes to whiskey and we want to help change that by creating an open space where women feel comfortable to voice their opinions.
“Our goal for this night is to learn a bit, taste a few drams and bring women together – as whisky was intended to do.”
Guests can sample a variety of whiskey styles guided by Artisan Distilling graduate Aislin Henrickson (Class of 2020) from Cottage Springs Beverage Co. who will provide an overview of the world of whiskey.
Guests may engage in empowering conversations with women about their favorite spirit, while enjoying a variety of savoury and sweet accompaniments prepared by the Benchmark team.
The event will offer a safe and welcoming space where people from all walks of life can learn about and promote women in the whiskey industry, share their experiences, and explore the world of whiskey. For those new to whiskey or seasoned enthusiasts, this event promises a memorable evening of camaraderie and discovery.
The cost to attend this event is $10. Reserve a seat at: www.eventbrite.ca/e/women-whiskey-wanderlust-empowering-women-in-the-world-of-whiskey-tickets-757812827567?aff=oddtdtcreator
