Episode four of the College Drop-In podcast is out!
On the mic this time is Samah Sabra, Associate Director, Workplace Equity, Diversity and Inclusion from Niagara College’s Centre for Organizational Excellence, who sits down with Paul Orlando, Economic Development Coordinator from the City of Welland, to spotlight the College’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Blueprint.
During the conversation, Sabra discusses how the Blueprint began, highlighting the College’s Diversity and Inclusion Taskforce and the extensive consultation process with both students and employees. She mentions the Blueprint’s areas of focus – Indigenous Ways of Knowing, Being and Doing; Student Experience; Employee Experience; and Organizational Culture and Structure – and explains that the College’s work around EDI will be continuous, evolving over time in response to the changing needs of students and employees.
Understanding that equity, diversity, and inclusion are shared responsibilities among the entire college community is at the core of NC’s EDI Blueprint – a “living document” that represents an ongoing and collective commitment to ensuring the College is a place where everyone feels they belong.
