Everyone is welcome to cheer on Niagara College’s varsity soccer teams on October 13, when the Knights take on the Mohawk Mountaineers at their final home games of the 2023-24 regular varsity season.
The women’s team takes to the pitch at 6 p.m., followed by the men’s team at 8 p.m.
Since it’s ‘Friday the 13th,’ the festivities will kick off at Youngs Sportsplex in Welland (570 River Rd.) with a ‘spooky tailgate’ starting around 5-5:30 p.m.
The tailgate is being hosted in partnership with NCSAC and will include a BBQ with free food for students (student ID card required), as well as a designated area to purchase alcoholic drinks (19+ and valid government ID required). Community members can also purchase food and drinks, and there will be opportunities to win prizes during the games.
Transportation is available for students to get to Youngs Sportsplex and back to campus after the games. Yellow school buses leave from the main entrance at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus at 4:45 p.m. and the Athletics entrance at the Welland Campus at 5:30 p.m.
