The Welland Campus community will soon get a taste of culinary activity from the College’s Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Staff and students from the NC Culinary Arts Café will host a pop-up at the Welland Campus on Tuesday, September 26 starting at 11 a.m. in the lobby near the Secord entrance (near the Segal International Centre). A variety of sandwiches, soup, salads, a variety of fresh baked goods, and fresh bread (made by Baking and Pastry Arts students) will be available for purchase at the culinary café pop-up until 2 p.m. or while supplies last.

The event will bring Benchmark and NC Culinary Arts Café staff, including about 10 students who work in the café, to Welland for the day.

The initiative is among many presented by the College’s Culinary, Tourism and Beverage Studies division, which is hosting a variety of culinary pop-ups, lunches, dinners and more this fall. Visit niagaracollege.ca/culinaryarts/services/.

Dean, Culinary Tourism and Beverage Studies division, Craig Youdale, noted that staff and students alike are excited about their first event at the Welland Campus.

“We’re very excited to bring the culinary café to Welland for the day,” said Youdale. “We hope that this event in Welland be the first of many.”

The NC Culinary Arts café, which is located in the hospitality wing at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus, will be closed on September 26 as staff brings the café to Welland for the day. It will resume its regular hours on September 27. The NC Culinary Arts Café is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  serving students, staff and guests with coffee, tea, assorted cold beverages, baked goods, soups and more.
