Team NC ignites change at United Way’s Second Annual Firetruck Pull

Team NC took part in the Second Annual United Way Firetruck Pull Campaign Kickoff at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre in St. Catharines on September 12.

On September 12, the Niagara College community united in strength for a noble cause – United Way’s Annual Firetruck Pull Campaign Kickoff.

Team NC: Dipal Patel, NCSAC President; Fiona Allan, VP, Academic; Gord Arbeau VP, Advancement; Sean Coote, VP, International; Bob Holder, OPSEU Local 243 President; Sean Kennedy, NC President; Dorita Pentesco, VP, Student Affairs; Marc Nantel, VP, Research, Innovation & Strategic Enterprises; Ali Weir, Co-op Career Consultant, Career Services; Becky Sciliberto, Compliance & Reporting Project Manager, Global Campus Operations; Executive Operations Manager, President’s Office; Pam Skinner, Senior VP, College Operations; Jennifer Murphy, Executive Assistant, VP, Research & Strategic Enterprises; Lindsey Hendriks, Community Relations and Event Specialist, Community Relations & Events.

Team NC proudly joined 30 local workplaces and organizations, showcasing the power of teamwork to drive lasting community change.

Together, they hauled a 12-tonne fire truck of 100 feet, competing for titles like Best Team Spirit, Fastest Pull Time, and Highest Fundraising Team. In the process, the event raised an impressive $30,000 to support vital social programs in Niagara.

With an impressive pull time of 18 minutes and 44 seconds, team NC’s passionate start to this year’s fundraising season sends a strong message of commitment and community engagement.
